How to apply your decals
The following guidelines are designed specifically for the Align T-Rex, but the application technique applies equally to other models too.
You will need:
- A clean, trimmed canopy with the screen added (wash with warm soapy water)
- A dish of warm water with a few drops of washing up liquid in. The more washing up liquid you add, the easier it will be to slide the decals, but the longer it will take them to dry. While the decal is still wet it can be carefully removed and repositioned.
Apply no.1 Left decal first
- Peel the decal off the backing sheet leaving the centre of the a's, o's, etc. (these will be added later).
- Dip the decal into the dish of warm water and place on the canopy with the 'hook' hugging the air intake cowl and the back end centralised with the remaining free space.
- While holding the decal in position, slide your thumb or finger over the decal to squeeze out the water making sure there is no water/air bubbles . When the decal doesn't move without forcing it, move on. It will be firmly fixed later.
Apply no.1 Right decal next
Apply as per no.1 left decal.
Apply no. 2 decal next
- Peel the decal off the backing sheet.
- Dip the decal into the dish of warm water and place on the canopy. Centralise with the remaining free space making sure the bottom line is pararell with the top of the no.1 decal, and there will be a gap left in the middle at the top, when the same decal on the other side is applied .

Apply no.2 Right decal next
Apply as per no.2 left decal
Apply no.3 decal next
- Peel the decal off the backing sheet.
- Dip the decal into the dish of warm water and place on the canopy. Centralise with the remaining free space making sure the bottom line is parallel with the top of the no.1 decal, and there will be a gap left in the middle at the top, when the same decal on the other side is applied .

Apply no.3 Right decal next
Apply as per no.3 left decal.
Apply no.4 decal next
- Peel the decal off the backing sheet leaving the centre of the R (this will be added later).

- While holding the decal in position, slide your thumb or finger over the decal to squeeze out the water making sure there is no water/air bubbles . When the decal doesn't move without forcing it, move on. It will be firmly fixed later.
Apply no.4 Right decal next
Apply as per no.4 left decal.
Finishing off
- When you are satisfied with the positioning gently warm the decals with a WARM hairdryer, this will firmly stick the decals in place. Caution: applying too much heat can deform the shape of the canopy, so be careful, and ensure the hair dryer is only warm, not hot!
- To cut the holes in the decal for the canopy mounts , simply rub over the area with your finger to produce a 'dimple' then pierce the decal with a sharp pointed knife and follow the hole round, giving a nice clean cut.
- Now for the missing bits. Pick up the middle of the letters with the point of a sharp knife, position and press on dry with your finger. Again gently warm the decals with a WARM hairdryer. Caution: applying too much heat can deform the shape of the canopy, so be careful, and ensure the hair dryer is only warm, not hot! Your canopy is now finished!
